Tough Loss to the Bull Dogs

It was a game of teammates playing against each other with Ashley Bryant (1st), Natalie Brownell (LF), Shannon Bratton (P-Wilson), Ellie Comerford (RF), Ava Legath (3rd-Wilson), & Sara Hess (C) all members of the Key Stone State Bombers and Paige Hughes (3rd) & Leah Berkis (2nd-Wilson) playing for Vanquish Fastpitch.

Our Lady Streaks started off hot!  With Bella Stern (2nd) scoring on a hard-hit single to CF by Sara Hess (C)!  The Streaks again were tough on “D” keeping Wilson scoreless until the top of the 3rd when a ground out to Ashley Bryant (1st) scored the runner on 3rd.  The score remained 1-1 until the top of the 5th when Wilson opened up their scoring topped off with a 3 run HR to right CF.  Both teams went scoreless the rest of the game, but the damage was done.  The Blue Streaks post their 1st loss of the season with this 5-1 final.

This game it was the right side of the infield on fire!  Bella Stern (2nd) was a brick wall fielding some tough ground balls for outs in the 4th, 5th & 6th.  She also covered 1st on a bunt recording an out in the 3rd.  Ashley Bryant (1st) fielded 3 grounders of her own in the 2nd & 3rd and caught a line drive in the 7th.

It was a tough test and a tough loss, but our Lady Streaks were in the game the game for 7 innings & never gave up!  A true testament to their grit & determination.  It is one loss, it is early in the season, & there is a lot more softball to play!
